Some people say that I should post a resume on my site. I think that’s rather dry, but if you really want one, I’ll be happy to send it to you.

Instead, let’s just do a quick bio and move along to the interesting stuff.

Writing

I started out (way too many) years ago as a reporter at a small newspaper. After a two-year break to be a Peace Corps volunteer (I taught English as a foreign language in Gabon), I went back to reporting and later moved on to copy editing. My career took me from the Carolinas to Florida to northern California, where it dawned on me that I didn’t want to be a copy editor any more. I didn’t care for the cold either, so I headed back to Florida, where I’ve been ever since - except when I’m traveling.

My work has appeared in a wide range of publications and websites. You can see a partial list in my portfolio.

Editing

Bad grammar, punctuation errors, run-on sentences and incorrect word choices distract the reader and reflect poorly on the writer.

I can polish your prose until it makes the kind of impact you want it to make. I do proofreading or copy editing for all types of written materials, including reports, newsletters, essays, speeches, resumes, business documents and non-fiction manuscripts. I can also handle light editing for technical subjects.
